The Haddam Emergency Food Bank has had a wonderful month of August. The Giving Garden was a great success this summer as well as our Garden Sharing Program.
Thank you to all the gardeners who have come out to share their extra garden goodies. We appreciate all your hard work and for sharing the opportunity for others to enjoy fresh produce.
A special thank you to all of our churches in town for supplying the food bank with many back-to-school snacks and River Valley Provisions for all your donations over the summer.
The Haddam Emergency Food Bank has serviced a total of 37 Adults and 25 Children.
The Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank has serviced 2 families with electrical assistance.
The Haddam Clothing Bank has serviced 6 Adults and 9 Children.
Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program has issued 4 coupon booklets out for August 2018.
The Senior Renter’s Rebate Program has serviced 28 individuals throughout the program to date.
A total of 7 Seniors have been assisted with SNAP and or CRT related issues for the month of August.
The Giving Garden is planning on expanding for the 2019 growing season and will be adding two new garden beds. We are seeking donations for bulbs, seeds, hand garden tools and garden bed soil. Volunteers are also always needed.
We are currently looking for volunteers for the Community Closet. Please contact us if you are interested.
The Food Bank is currently in need of tuna, pasta, tomato sauce, tea, and coffee.
